A really moment

Since my last post I had to have an interview, by telephone, to see if I was suitable to emigrate, as I didn't have a job to go to. (Thanks Mr MO for messing me about for so long I lost the job I had secured.) Talk about surreal.

I must have finally done something right. We have permission to reside in NZ dependant on me re-registering with the NZ teaching council, proving that the wife & I still live together (cobble some recent bills together) and paying the Migrant Levy Fund. Basically a tax to emigrate.

I love the reason for this tax, English language lessons for non-English speakers and help in getting jobs. So if I ask, will I get help in getting a job? Aye right.

Way overdue update

OK, I had nearly given up ever emigrating due to the medical advisor moving the goalposts, again.

I was given a list of things to do prove in Jan 2011 and I have been working at this showing no diabetic retinopathy, lack of liver disease etc.

Maybe I will have done enough to allow me to get my clearance to enter NZ, so I can be there for Jan 2012. Four years after I initally started the process.

I will now also have to reregister with the NZTC. I am e-mailing them over this after I have checked their website for details.
